Butterfly Fair Entries

Raising butterflies can produce many fair entries from entering the butterflies you are raising in their cage to a planter you have filled with butterfly plants to a poster and many more.  Some fair entry suggestions are listed below.

Most of the butterfly fair entries will be in the Natural Resources Department.

Other Fair Departments

DEPARTMENT – I-25 – On Site Vegetable, Flower, Herb, and Other Gardens

Butterfly Garden – If you have a butterfly garden at your house, please consider entering it in either Novice Other Garden class 1005, 2005 or 3005 or Other Garden class 1010, 2010 or 3010.  A team of judges will come to your house, or wherever your garden is,  to judge your garden

DEPARTMENT – I-14 – Informal Demonstrations

I would love to have at least one informal presentation a night on the butterflies.  There is only one class for informal demonstration, 4001.  You may work with another individual or a team for your demonstration.

Below is a list of suggested topics but you may do a demonstration on any topic you choose.  If we can keep the tent, opening it up and taking a small group in with the butterflies would also be an option.

  • Present your poster  – see Natural Resources for ideas
  • Easy Make-it, Take-it
  • Simply display your butterfly raising cage, talk about the experience for a few minutes then answer any questions.
